Maui Fire Department personnel via Air One and jet ski entered the water to assist.
She, along with department personnel, were air lifted to the shore, where she was evaluated on scene by medics and released. No injuries were reported.
In 2018, a Montana man entered the ocean at Olivine Pools in an attempt to save his 15-year-old daughter, who was swept in by a wave. Bystanders pulled the daughter to safety, but the father was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the scene.
